Eastbank's Last Hurrah

September 27th is photo essay day here at Casa del Belmont... So to wit, some images of a bittersweet occasion, the Eastbank Farmers' Market's very last day of the season:

We'll miss you too, Butter Man, we'll miss you too...

What are the white raspberry-looking things, and what do they taste like?

I'm not absolutely certain, but I'm pretty sure those are gold raspberries, which come into season in the fall, around here anyway. I'm not sure what they taste like. I'd have picked up a pint, but I was too busy taking photos.

I miss the butter man too, but I don't know why...

Even *I* miss the Butter Man, and I only met him once.

The Butter Man, whose name I'm told is Ken, misses you all as well. Fortunately, he'll still be at the downtown FM every Saturday until late December, so access to the best butter in the Western Hemisphere (Virago, your better half put it best when he described it as "unusually buttery") will continue uninterrupted for those of us in Portland until Winter sets in...

Hey thanks, CC. Don't believe we've see ya around these parts before. Welcome aboard!
